Sunday marks the beginning of the seventh annual Cape Town Festival bringing music, comedy and art to South Africa's oldest city.
Lasting until March 25th, venues across Cape Town will play host to a variety of public events and performances.
The main festival district is around the historic Company Gardens where the event will be officially launched, but other venues include every local theatre and museum.
Highlights include the Night Vision carnival, the In Touch community project and the open-air Human Rights Day concert.
Best of all, most of these events are free, or at low prices, and with so much to choose from it is likely that there is something for everyone here.
Cape Town is South Africa's number one tourist destination and visitors to the city will have more than the festival to distract them.
Famous for nearby Table Mountain, the Victoria and Albert shopping waterfront is popular as is the penguin colony on Boulders Beach.
