World Cup campsite announced
Football fans daunted by the rising cost of hotel accomadation in Germany can now take advantage of a cheap, mass campsite, to be based in the city of Dortmund.
Five trade halls in the German city are to be turned into a camp during the World Cup, providing accomadation for 4,000 football fans.
Travellers will be charged around 35 per night, based on a typical three night stay. The cost includes travel to the football stadium in Dortmund, as well as matches in nearby Cologne and Gelsenkirchen, travelbite.co.uk reports.
The initiative has been launched in response to rising hotel prices in the host country, with many football fans lucky enough to have secured tickets but unable to find affordable accomadation.
The camp will be divided into men and women's areas and a space for couples.
The trade halls will host a number of free events, including concerts, to keep football fans entertained between matches.
Some of the first games to be played in the Dortmund stadium include Sweden against Trinidad and Tobago in England's group and Japan versus Brazil.
