Asia Pacific airports come out tops
Many people may be deterred from taking a long-haul trip due to fears that service and quality standards will start to decline when they leave Europe.
However, a new survey of the world's airports has helped to firmly dispel this myth, with Asia Pacific airports coming out on top.
Korea's Incheon International Airport was named the best airport worldwide, in the passenger survey conducted by AETRA.
Hong Kong International Airport shared second place with Singapore Changi Airport, while Kuala Lumpur International Airport gained a respectable third place.
The winners were announced at a special dinner at this year's ACI Airport Service Quality Conference, held in Abu Dhabi.
Introducing the awards, ACI director general Robert Aaronson said: "The true winners are the airport customers who are beneficiaries of the airports' drive to make sure that their facilities and services meet the highest standards of excellence.
"In our competitive air transport industry, airports know that customer satisfaction builds customer loyalty and that the customer is at the heart of our future success."
