Summer Surprises in Middle East
The city of Dubai has announced a line-up of ten weeks of themed activities for all the family from June to September, with the arrival of the ninth annual Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) event.
Launching on June 21st, the weekly activities, which have been planned to coincide with school summer holidays, are designed to attract kids and their parents into the city's air-conditioned malls for a range of themed events and surprises, with something for every age group.
DSS executive project director, Laila Suhail commented: "We have always focused on making DSS a family event with special attention to the kids' activities. The annual summer event attempts to cover all shopping malls and will prove to be a very good opportunity to showcase the new malls that have been recently added. We intend to host big events in these malls to attract crowds from different cross-sections of society."
Last year DSS attracted 1.51 million visitors to Dubai with live shows, competitions and courses to keep visitors occupied in between shopping excursions.
With a different government department running each week's activities, which this year include ice surprises, arts surprises, international food surprises and adventure surprises, this is a great, if not unique way to experience the United Arab Emirates.
