It is predicted that by 2010 the hot, international holiday destinations which we will all be flying to will be in
Africa,
Northern Asia and the
Caribbean.
According to UK adventure travel company Guerba, holidaymakers over the next four years will start heading to Angola, Rwanda, Mozambique, Mongolia and less well known areas of the Caribbean, Travel Daily News reports.
Ian Ripper, director of Guerba said: "We are investigating countries that show potential and are opening up after years of conflict, economic instability, or simply because they haven’t been on people’s radars as true travel destinations."
Countries such as Mozambique and Angola, which have suffered from civil and economic problems in the past, are actually now going through periods of renewal with new, stable governments and renewed economic investment.
"Many people will be surprised at some of the countries in which real interest is being shown. Rwanda for example, has seen a small emergence in tourism, especially among French nationals… [and] the island of Dominica happens to be a wonderful habitat in which to offer trekking," Mr Ripper commented.
Mongolia is one of the highest countries in the world, landlocked between the borders of Russia and northern China, famous for its ancient warrior ruler Ghengis Khan and its nomadic people.
