Passengers flying to India from Heathrow airport will from April 22nd be able to take advantage of
bmi's new daily service to
Mumbai (formally known as Bombay).
The route between London and
Mumbai, which has been up-and-running for 12 months, was
bmi's first long haul route out of Heathrow.
bmi chief executive officer, Nigel Turner, said: "As we increase our operation to a daily service, we will further establish our presence and reputation in the Indian market whilst at the same time enhance our long haul profile at London Heathrow.
"Our willingness and desire to provide much needed competition on other long haul routes from Heathrow in the future remains determined."
This new addition to
bmi's flight schedule departing each day from London at 11.10 BST will give more options to travellers flying to the Indian subcontinent.
bmi, formerly known as British Midland, has been awarded the title of Best UK Domestic Airline 14 times consecutively and claims to be the UK's second largest airline flying out of Heathrow.
