A trip to
Barcelona this summer could be the perfect opportunity to see a cultural city at its best, as June sees the beginning of the summer-long Barcelona Festival.
Fly into
Catalonia between June 25th and August 8th and you could experience any number of theatrical, musical or dance performances happening around
Barcelona as part of the 30th annual cultural celebration otherwise known as the Grec Festival.
Named after the open air performance space which built in 1929 on Montjuic, in the style of an ancient Greek amphitheatre, the Grec festival is a celebration of both traditional and contemporary performance arts and attracts world class performers of all kinds.
This year the theatrical line up includes performances of Hamlet, The Tempest, Metamorphosis and Peer Gynt as well as music and dance from both classical and contemporary performers.
Previous years have also seen shows by such musical names as Brian Wilson, Jamie Cullum and Joss Stone.
