A chocolate celebration held in the Austrian alpine region could be the ideal reason to fly to
Austria this summer.
The annual International Milka Chocolate Festival, in the medieval town of Bludenz, will be celebrating its 23rd year on July 8th with a day of cocoa-induced festivities.
Festivities include events, games and competitions which see over 1000 kilograms of chocolate given away in prizes and the ultimate winner being awarded their weight in Milka bars.
The world's largest chocolate event, the Milka festival day is not only a huge fair for children, featuring stalls, entertainment and a chocolate parade through the centre of town, but also features a downhill skiing race, with the Milka-sponsored skiing stars usually making an appearance.
In 1998 the festival's main attraction was the world's biggest chocolate bar, which weighing 4,410 pounds, was five metres by two metres in length.
