Dublin's cultural quarter, Temple Bar, which is packed full of creative spaces and artist-led projects is the place to fly to experience the city's annual summer Diversions Festival.
The three-month-long open air arts festival runs from June through to August, offering locals and visitors alike the opportunity to experience hundreds of free outdoor events.
From movies to live music, opera and circus performances the Diversions Festival is Ireland's longest and largest free festival
Highlights include Movies on the Square, which play every Saturday night for the duration of the summer on the theme of Oscar winning films from 1991 to 2006, as well as a series of black and white films on Thursdays throughout August and the screening of submissions for the short film award.
In June music fans can experience a week of traditional Irish music at the Temple Bar sessions, while poetry lovers can listen to Seamus Heaney reading from his own works on the 25th of the month.
Throughout July and August there is also plenty of theatrical fun and family entertainment to be enjoyed on the streets of
Dublin with the Temple Bar Circus season and the Fishamble Theatre Company.
