Amsterdam is the place for party-goers to fly to this summer, as the Dutch capital's third biggest festival and most glamorous and unusual street party takes place in August.
As part of Amsterdam's annual gay pride festivities, the city's famous canals will play host to more than 70 highly-decorated boats on August 5th as part of a unique and flamboyant parade.
Last year saw around 250,000 spectators crowd the banks of the Prinsengracht and the Amstel canals to join the celebrations and watch the magnificent costumes and floats go by.
The pride festival runs from August 3rd to 6th and includes numerous cultural and sporting activities as well as the huge street parties which are open to everyone, of all sexual orientations.
Visitors to
Amsterdam can enjoy everything from basketball and bridge competitions to theatre and an open-air film festival, as well as various art exhibitions, club nights and street carnivals.
