Premium-class travellers heading to the
United Arab Emirates can look forward to some exclusive luxury as
Qatar Airways has announced that it plans to open the world's very first business and first-class dedicated terminal at Doha International Airport.
The terminal, which is part of an on-going £108 million expansion project, is scheduled to open in June and will include self-service check-in kiosks and e-gates for speedier immigration, according to Conference & Incentive Travel.
Passengers can also enjoy separate first and business class lounges, restaurants, shopping areas and a spa with a Jacuzzi and sauna.
Akbar Al Baker, chief executive office at Qatar Airways, stated: "The new terminal for premium passengers will be a big boost for Qatar Airways. It is the first of its kind, not only in the Middle East, but anywhere in the world.
"For business travellers, we will have conference and meeting rooms together with secretarial services and free access to internet stations within the terminal."
At this week's Bahrain International Travel Expo, Akbar Al Baker told the media that Qatar Airways plans to almost triple its size to 110 jets by 2015 and that the airline is investing around $16 billion in new aircraft.
