European beer-lovers should grab a
flight to Belgium this September and make a bee-line for
Brussels, for the city's eighth annual Beer Weekend.
Held from the September 1st to 3rd in
Brussels' historically picturesque and internationally renowned Grand Place square in the Grote markt, visitors will have the opportunity to sample a whole host of traditional Belgium beers from breweries large and small.
The festival will see around 48 different beer-makers set-up stands in Brussels' gothic main square, in the presence of the city's UNESCO world heritage designated medieval town hall.
Alongside the beer sampling, visitors to the Beer Weekend can also partake in a variety of historic brewery-inspired events, including the celebration of Saint Arnold, the patron saint of brewers; the inauguration of the beer stands by the grand master of the Knighthood of the Brewers' Mash staff, the mayor and the aldermen of Brussels, and the brewers' parade.
