In the 'eternal city' the day is not enough, at least during September, when travellers planning to
fly to Rome can enjoy a whole night of culture at La Notte Bianca or the White Night.
On September 8th and into the morning of the 9th, the whole of
Rome from the city centre to the suburbs will remain open for 24 hours allowing locals and visitors access to a whole host of attractions and events.
Designed as a social as well as a cultural event, the focus is on solidarity and multiculturalism and access to all performances and exhibitions is free.
Visitors can choose from a huge selection of musical events, from jazz and pop to classical, theatrical performances, film screenings, and art exhibitions, as well as being able to engage in various charity events across the city.
Those visiting
Rome on La Notte Bianca also have the opportunity to ride public transport all night, for the price of a single 70p ticket.
For more information visit
La Notte Bianca website.
