People who
fly to Turkey are to get access to 50 new hotels thanks to a €300 million (£207 million) investment.
Hotel group Accor intends to build most of the new facilities on the western side of the country, which is the main destination for people visiting the country, reports AFP.
Commenting on the investment, Korhan Ozbay, a spokesperson for Accor, said that the company hopes that 12 of the new hotels will be completed by 2009.
Earlier this year, the group said that as a result of "global demand", it hopes to open more than 200,000 new rooms by 2010, with the majority of these in "emerging markets".
In order to achieve its targets on a global scale, Accor plans to invest €2.7 billion between this year and 2010.
Accor operates a range of hotel chains, including Ibis, Novotel, Motel 6 and Red Roof Inn.
