Film buffs planning to
fly to Spain in September should pay a visit to the Donostia-San Sebastian International Film Festival.
This year is the 54th of what is considered to be one of the most important film festivals in
Spain, and what many believe to be among the four most important film festivals in the world, alongside
Cannes,
Berlin and Venice.
Hosted in the city of San Sebastian from September 21st to 30th the ten day festival of film is expected to attract around 220,000 spectators, hoping to sample at least a few of the 227 movies from around the world which will be shown at various venues around the city.
This year's contributions include a season on films on the theme of Emigrants and a retrospective of the work of Ernst Lubitsch, a film maker of the early years of cinema.
