Fly to Amsterdam for the weekend of September 9th and 10th and you could sample some of the city's major historic monuments for free.
The annual National Heritage Days weekend gives visitors to
Amsterdam and locals alike, the opportunity to visit around 35 famous cultural spots across the city.
Along with its picturesque canals, the Dutch city also has the highest number of museums per capita in the world and the National Heritage Days provide the perfect opportunity, not only to see some top tourist spots, but also visit some of the monuments which are closed to the public throughout the rest of the year.
There are around 20,000 buildings within the historic city centre, a third of which were built before 1850, with 6,700 national monuments and preserved historic buildings among them, a number of which are private residences and only open to the public during the National Heritage Days weekend.
Offering many unique opportunities and free access for all this weekend is the perfect time to pay a visit to this historic city.
