The Sausalito Art Festival in northern California is well worth a visit for those planning to
fly to San Francisco this September.
The annual four-day festival, which has been running for more than 50 years, spans the Labour Day weekend from September 1st to 4th and provides a showcase from more than 20,000 works of art from local, American and international artists.
From functional to abstract, works range from paintings and sculpture to jewellery, glass and woodwork as well as photography and mixed media work, all of which are on show and for sale.
The village of Sausalito creates a beautiful setting for the festivities, which aside from the galleries, include entertainment on three different stages as well as various food and fine wine vendors, with picturesque streets and a beautiful waterfront park.
Located just north of the famous Golden Gate Bridge on the
San Francisco Bay shoreline there will be a free shuttle bus running from Union Square for the duration of the festival.

Sausalito Art Festival website.
