A must for all mountaineering fans and lovers of the great outdoors, the fourth annual Edinburgh Mountain Film Festival is well worth grabbing a
flight to Scotland for.
Held this year from October 20th to 22nd the festival is dedicated to promoting adventure, showcasing a whole host of short extreme sport films, on everything from climbing to skiing and mountain biking to base jumping.
Visitors to
Edinburgh can also enjoy a hands-on experience from October 16th with various 'come and try' events taking place offering the chance to try any number of extreme sports.
Later in the week there will also be the opportunity to try out a climbing master class lead by two of Scotland's top climbers or attend a lecture given by some of the most famous names in mountaineering.
The film events will take place at the George Square Lecture Theatre at Edinburgh University and exhibitions of mountain art, photography and poetry will be held at the Edinburgh Fine Art Library.
