Direct daily flights between London Heathrow and
Brazil will begin from the end of October 2006.
Brazil's largest airline, TAM will fly seven times a week between
Guarulhos airport, Sao Paulo and London starting on October 28th, UK Airport news reports.
The daily flight slots were released to Heathrow airport this week by the Airport Coordination Limited authority, after the Brazilian Civil Aviation Agency granted its authorisation for the new flight frequency.
The flights which will depart Heathrow in the evening are set to arrive into Guarulhos airport in the early morning, while the flights from Sao Paulo will also depart at night and arrive into London in the afternoon.
Heathrow is set to be TAM's second European destination after Paris, into which the airline already flies twice daily, offering passengers connections to both a large Brazilian domestic network and all destinations out of London.
Heathrow airport recently announced that as part of its new extension at Terminal 3 they have introduced three new 90 metre long baggage carousels which they hope will assist customers to retrieve their luggage more easily.
