Free online guides for travellers

A free downloadable travel guide service has been launched by online travel service, Trip Advisor.

The site is offering travel information to its top 25 destinations in an easily accessible format which travellers and visitors to the website can download free of charge.

The number one destination on the guide list is Las Vegas, closely followed by Orlando, which offers holidaymakers basic information on Central Florida, including weather conditions and environment and commentary from Trip Advisor members.

The guides as well as offering information about hotels and accommodation also include activity suggestions from museums to adventure sports.

To access the guide information on cities including London, Paris, San Francisco, Rome, Vancouver, Sydney and Hong Kong, visitors are required to enter their email addresses and postcodes.

A recent poll by Priceline.com revealed that the majority of Americans are choosing to holiday within the US in 2006 with Chicago proving to be the most popular destination according to bookings made.
