Those travelling to
Florida next week may wish to check out the Lower Keys Underwater Music Festival.
Appealing to diving and music fans alike, the festival is an innovative scheme promoting ways to protect the reef ecosystem.
Britons who take a
flight to Florida and wish to witness the event should make their way to Looe Key Reef, which is six miles south of Big Pine Key.
The
Florida event consists of approximately 600 divers and snorkellers taking part in underwater activities, with a musical backdrop.
Lubell Laboratory speakers will be used to play the music underwater and will be attached to the bottom of boats.
A variety of music will be played, including the Beatles' Yellow Submarine and lyrics from Jimmy Buffet.
Those who want to visit the festival could catch a
flight to Miami and proceed to the Florida Keys from there.
Alternatively, Coconut Grove in Miami could keep holidaymakers occupied with its lively shopping and nightlife scene.
