Virgin Atlantic has launched its sixth daily service to
New York flying out of Heathrow airport.
The new transatlantic service which commenced on July 1st offers travellers the option of leaving London each day at 18:00 BST, arriving into JFK at 21:00 local time.
The VS025 service will be operated by an A340-600, as will the return flight, VS026, which will depart from JFK airport at 07:30 local time and arrive into London Heathrow at 19:10 BST.
Chief executive of Virgin Atlantic, Steve Ridgway, commented: "Greater frequency and the best service in the air are attracting more and more business travellers.
"The launch of our sixth daily service between London and New York gives all of our travellers more choice every day, also enabling them to take a day flight back from New York in comfort. Virgin Atlantic is the only way to fly to 'The Big Apple'."
The airline began its transatlantic operations between London and New York in 1984 and in the last 22 years has flown a total of 163 million miles carrying approximately 12.5 million passengers.
Virgin also now offers a daily service between London and Dubai as a result of the proven popularity of the route which was established back in March 2006.
