Austria's national airline has announced it will be using WiFi on board its business class services on Boeing B777 flights.
If you fly to Melbourne, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore this year on
Austrian Airlines you will be able to experience the new technology, which is made available by wireless LAN.
Passengers will have the luxury of plugging in laptop adaptors while on board and surfing the net at 30,000 feet.
The move should also be good news for business people who can stay in touch with the office on long haul flights.
However, there will be a charge of roughly $27 per passenger for the use of the wireless facility.
Austrian Airlines has said that it hopes to install Wi-Fi on
flights to Delhi by Christmas and also to extend the technology for
flights to New York, Washington,
Toronto and
Mumbai by autumn this year.
Flights to Mauritius,
Phuket, Colombo and the
Caribbean are predicted to have the technology in place by 2007.
The Wi-Fi service is called Connexion and is created by Boeing services.
