San Francisco to celebrate jazz for three whole weeks
Book a flight to flight to San Francisco in autumn this year and you could witness the infamous San Francisco Jazz Festival.

The festival was founded in 1983 and named Jazz in the City, however it was renamed the San Francisco Jazz Festival in 1999 to emphasise its development to an all year round event.

The main festival will be held for three weeks this year travel to San Francisco on October 17th and witness what the Observer has described as "the biggest and best festival in the world".

The festival acts range from traditional jazz to new more modern sounds incorporating something for everyone.

Major names at the festival this year include Ornette Coleman, Don Byron, Etta James and the Roots Band, Poncho Sanchez and Toots Thielemans.

One of the highlights of the festival is the All Star High School Ensemble, which consists of some of the most talented young jazz musicians in California.

San Francisco Jazz is a not for profit event.
