Lufthansa has been voted Europe's best airline by the readers of German business magazine, Capital.
Around 2,200 readers responded to the survey which voted
Lufthansa as the top airline for flights within Europe, for both its onboard and ground services, while Lufthansa CityLine was winner of the best regional airline award.
The airlines were judged on their punctuality, service, value for money, seating comfort, in-flight catering, bonus programmes, and feeling of security.
Executive vice president of marketing and sales at Lufthansa German Airlines, Thierry Antinori, said: "We invest in quality for our customers, on board and on the ground. Lufthansa stands for mobility a la carte."
The airline has recently introduced updated cabin interiors with new ergonomic seating offering more legroom and an empty middle seat in business class, as well as self-service quick check-in terminals.
Lufthansa was also ranked as number five in the rankings for leading long-haul service, up three places from 2005.
