Families and people travelling with children should grab a
flight to Chicago this October for the city's 23rd annual International Children's Film Festival.
Running this year from October 19th to 29th, the festival is a fantastic opportunity for kids and grown-ups to experience a wide range of feature films, animations and short movies promoting equality and understanding, designed specifically for young people.
As well as film screenings, there are workshops and discussions aimed at children of all ages, offering young people the chance to meet filmmakers, media professionals and celebrities from countries around the world.
Young people from around
Chicago are also given the chance to try their hands at filmmaking and animation, while adults can attend workshops for parents and teachers in media comprehension and education.
More than 24,000 people are expected to attend the festival, which is to be screened at the Facets Multi-Media centre and Vittum Theatre and will feature over 200 animated and live action films from 40 countries worldwide.
