American airline JetBlue has been voted World's Best Domestic Airline 2006 by readers of Travel & Leisure magazine.
The carrier which flies out of New York was launched six years ago and now serves 40 destinations across the US, the latest addition being the city of
Charlotte, North Carolina.
The airline was also awarded the title of Best Domestic Airline For Value, by Travel & Leisure magazine readers.
Other honours presented to JetBlue this year have included a Passenger Service Award from Air Transport World magazine and Best Airline Value by Entrepreneur Magazine.
David Neeleman, JetBlue's chief executive commented: "On behalf of JetBlue's 10,800 crewmembers, I would like to thank the readers of Travel & Leisure for this honour.
"The JetBlue Experience is about welcoming our customers on the phone, at the airport and on board, and making it easy to fly JetBlue. We also know that we are only as good as our last flight, and we will remain focused on making your next JetBlue flight your best."
The Travel & Leisure magazine awards will be presented at the Rockefeller Center in
New York on July 20th.
