Continental Airlines has announced the addition of Japan Airlines to its list of airlines with which it shares eTicketing capabilities, taking the number of carriers with which it has shared electronic ticketing to 50.
This latest addition means that
Continental now has the largest interline eTicketing capabilities of any airline in the world.
The carrier has now implemented an entirely paper-free ticketing policy for all journeys with Continental, even those on multi-carrier or interline tickets.
Mark Erwin, senior vice president for Asia/Pacific and corporate development, said: "Our interline eTicket product with JAL is exciting due to the significant number of passengers who fly on tickets involving both carriers.
"Additionally, we have an aggressive interline eTicket schedule in place for our remaining interline partners, allowing all of our customers to fly on eTickets as soon as possible."
Continental Airlines which, together with Continental Connection and Continental Express has over 3,200 daily flights across Europe, Asia and the Americas, has gone as far as terminating around 20 agreements with interline carriers that have been unable or unwilling to implement an eTicketing service.
