Europe is the most popular destination for Middle Eastern travellers and holidaymakers this summer, according to a new survey.
The findings from Ethiad Holidays, which is a division of Ethiad Airways, the United Arab Emirates' (UAE) national airline, show that around 60 per cent of holiday bookings made this summer have been for European destinations.
Popular spots among those travelling from the UAE in the months of June, July and August this year include
Germany,
France,
Switzerland,
Belgium and the UK.
General manager at Etihad Holidays, Nick Wood, commented: "Europe is a wonderful place to visit during the summer months, especially when the temperatures in the Middle East are at their highest.
"Middle East travellers love Europe's diversity, history and culture, as well as the variety of accommodation and transport options."
Ethiad Holidays also reports that Disneyland Resort Paris has also proved to be a popular destination.
The airline recently announced that from October 2006 it will fly daily to
New York, taking the carrier's destination total to 35.
