Grab a
flight to Las Vegas at the end of October and you could catch the blood, sweat and tears of a real life rodeo.
Held over two weekends at two venues in the desert-bound city of lights and casinos, the Professional Bull Riders World Finals will this year take place on October 27th to 29th and November 2nd to 5th.
Visitors to
Las Vegas can enjoy the excitement in the relative safety of the stands as the competition's top 45 cowboys take on the challenge of some hefty bulls, for some top prize money.
The aim of the competition is to stay on a bull for eight consecutive seconds, with a total of ten bulls to try the cowboys' strength, each with a bad temper and the desire to throw and gore its rider
With injuries aplenty, at the end of the day the judges decide who rode the longest and the hardest – to a top possible score of 100 points – with the bulls assessed on their different kicks and twists and the riders judged on their style.
