Travellers and holidaymakers planning a trip to Ireland this autumn should head to
Cork for a unique exhibition of Irish art.
Presenting an interesting insight into a part of the nation's cultural history, those interested by Irish art and culture should take a
flight to Cork before December 10th, when the exhibition closes.
Held at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in
Cork, the show includes pieces drawn from the museum's own collection as well as 35 new acquisitions from the PJ Carroll collection.
The exhibition includes pieces by various important artists of the 1970s, enabling visitors to see works by Felim Egan, Robert Ballagh, Gerda Fromel, Maria Simonds-Gooding, Michael Warren, Patrick Scott, Tony O'Malley and Michael Coleman.
The PJ Carroll collection is regarded as having played a crucial role in the development of modern art in Ireland and the exhibition will see a coming together of the best of post-War era Irish art, exploring what was a pivotal era for the nation.
