Holidaymakers taking a
flight to Miami in November could take a break from the beaches and sample some garden culture at the city's annual garden festival.
Held at the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, the festival known as Ramble is a celebration of Florida's great out-doors with some wonderful old traditions and exciting new additions every year.
Ramble garden festival, which will be held this year on the weekend of November 11th and 12th, was established 66 years ago as a fund raising event by Nell Jennings, wife of Garden founder Colonel Robert H. Montgomery
Visitors to
Miami can browse the extensive plant sale, billed as "the best plant sale" with thousands of specimens taken from the garden's own nursery, potter round the antiques stalls, check out the old and rare book stands and sample some of the produce at the Fairchild's farmers market.
There will also be live music across the weekend, along with arts and crafts demonstrations, competitions and children's activities, as well as plenty of good food and drink on sale.
For more information check out the
Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden website.
