As one of the most extravagant street festivals in the New York City calendar, travellers taking a
flight to New York this November should not miss Macy's Thanksgiving Parade.
Held every year on the fourth Thursday in November, this year's Thanksgiving holiday and float-and-giant-balloon-filled parade will take place on November 23rd.
Beginning in central Manhattan, the parade, which will include a huge number of character balloons, Broadway show performers, celebrities and special guests on various floats, will follow a route down Central Park west and Broadway.
Characters from various cartoons and TV shows, from Scooby Doo to Sponge Bob Square Pants, will be floating above the crowds, while nearly 30 floats, numerous marching bands, celebrities as well as local performance groups will take to the street.
Visitors to
New York will be able to join the crowds, which last year topped 2.5 million, to see everyone from Natasha Bedingfield to the Radio City Rockettes, and the cast and Muppets from Sesame Street.
