British Airways has increased the number of one-way low-cost seats on flights across Europe by 500 per cent.
Around two million
British Airways seats have been made available all year round from Gatwick, at reduced prices of up to 56 per cent less than previous fares.
With some 900,000 tickets available, customers can now fly to any one of eight European cities, such as Barcelona, Amsterdam and Madrid, from £29 including tax and charges.
The airline is also offering another 700,000 tickets to a selection of 13 cities from £34 including Naples, Pisa, Verona and Varna.
British Airways' head of sales, Andrew Crawley, said: "We had a huge response from customers to the new European fares that we launched in April and it has prompted us to make this substantial increase in the number of seats available at these low prices all year round."
British Airways also recently extended its new online check-in facilities to enable parents to log-on and check-in their children and infants 24 hours before their flight.
