Finnair has announced that until the end of October it will be making more than 100 flights per month to
China.
From August, the carrier will be increasing the frequency of its services to
Beijing, Shanghai,
Hong Kong and Guangzhou.
The airline's Chinese services have been operating since 1988 when it began offering a weekly to Beijing.
Petteri Kostermaa of Finnair VP network strategies and management, said: "The hundred flight mark is an important milestone for us, which proves that our Asian strategy is a success.
"A constantly increasing number of northern European passengers have recognised that the fastest, most direct route to China is via Helsinki."
The carrier, with its direct flight from Guangzhou to Helsinki has eliminated the need to stopover in Hong Kong, can also offer Chinese passengers transfer connections to more than 30 European destinations.
Finnair currently offers 23 flights a week to and from China.
