Frankfurt has a wealth of cultural activities to offer visitors but for those hoping to enjoy something in their native tongue, a trip to the English Theatre could be a unique and entertaining experience.
The city's first English-language theatre, it was established in 1979 by an American trio, Jon Johnson, Mary Jackson and Ken Elrod and their South African friend, Kevin Oakes who went onto be the artistic director.
With 300 seats the
Frankfurt theatre, which three years ago moved to its current state-of-the-art location, is the largest English language theatre on the continent.
Those planning to
fly to Frankfurt in November could make their way to the theatre to catch a performance of the 1940s-inspired musical, City of Angels which tells the tale of a struggling author and his film noir alter-ego, in dark comedic style with a wonderful jazz-inspired score.
The theatre is located on Kaiserstrasse, in the heart of
Frankfurt, with its own house bar called James and performances every day of the week, but Monday.

English Theatre website.
