Elvis always on travellers' minds

A poll of gap year students has revealed that Elvis is the favoured travelling companion for many.

Travellersconnected.com's survey showed that six per cent of respondents most wanted to travel the world with the megastar, topping the poll altogether, reports TravelMole.

The survey allowed students to pick the one person, dead or alive, that they would most like to go on holiday with.

"Elvis being the number one choice was totally unexpected, but then at least you'd never be short of a few tunes by the campfire!" commented Alastair Banks, one of the founders of Travellersconnected.com.

Other popular choices included Gandhi, John Lennon and Marilyn Monroe, with Che Guevara and the Dalai Lama also ending up in the top ten.

Obvious choices such as Michael Palin and David Attenborough were not quite popular enough to reach the top ranks.
