Music fans catching a
flight to Vienna this October or November can celebrate the diversity of contemporary music at this year's Wien Modern music festival.
The event showcases the latest in new and experimental music from countries throughout Europe, beginning October 29th and finishing up on November 25th.
Highlights of this year's festival at the Vienna Musikverein and the Vienna Konzerthaus include a performance in a planetarium using real sounds from space and a showcase of music composed to sound like photocopiers doing their work.
Festival-goers can also enjoy a wide range of films and literature, as well as a number of modern dance performances.
Artists at the
Vienna event this year include Peter Ablinger, Brian Ferneyhough, Leif Inge, Pan Sonic and Serge Verstockt.
See the
Wien Modern website for more details.
