Britons
flying to Australia will soon be able to watch live TV from the comfort of their plane seats.
Virgin Blue, the Australian arm of Richard Branson's
Virgin airline, is offering live TV options to guests on its flights down under.
The live2air product will be available on a pay-per-view basis and will be in operation throughout the flight.
Passengers watching live TV will have their own personal seatback screen and can access a range of channels, including Sky News Australia, Fox News, CNN, Fox Sports, Boomerang and Nickelodeon.
"This is true entertainment history in the making," said Brett Godfrey, chief executive of Virgin Blue.
"It is more than a seat; it's the best seat in the house on the most technologically advanced aircraft in this part of the world."
Other airlines that let passengers watch live TV during their journeys include
Singapore Airlines and Qatar Airways.
