Britons wanting see a show with a difference this November should hop on a
flight to Thailand for the annual Surin Elephant Round-up.
Elephants have long held an important place in Thai culture, literature, art and history and this event celebrates the relationship between the animals and the Thai people.
The gathering sees hundreds of elephants assemble in the city of Surin on November 18th and 19th to take part in a number of impressive events.
These include elephant football, log-pulling and a tug-of-war between elephants and men.
Visitors can also enjoy the spectacle of elephants dressed in colourful medieval war gear parading through the city and watch a demonstration of how wild elephants are captured and used for work.
The show attracts visitors from all over the world and could turn a holiday in
Thailand into an unusually magical experience.
