People planning to book a flight with
British Airways can now examine their chosen destinations via Google Earth technology on the airline's website.
The partnership with Google allows holidaymakers to zoom in on particular locations as they investigate the flights on offer.
This will enable Britons to check out tourist attractions in the area, as well as researching practicalities such as distances to hotels.
"We hope holidaymakers have fun with this specially created tool," said Obi Felton, head of consumer marketing at Google.
"People have always enjoyed finding their own home on Google Earth and now they can see where they'll be laying down their beach towel or enjoying apres ski before they fly."
British Airways has launched this feature as part of its World Offers fare sale, which is selling over three million seats at discounted prices.
Travellers can take advantage of cheap fares to popular destinations such as
New York,
Hong Kong,
Amsterdam and
Beijing.
