Travellers who are fond of a flutter or two should catch a
flight to Hong Kong for the largest racing event in Asia: the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong International Races on December 10th.
Also known as the Turf World Championships, the races offer a substantial pot of money for the top contenders in each of the day's four events.
These include the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup (2,000 metres), the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Vase (2,400m), the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile (1,600m) and the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Sprint (1,200m).
The Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup is also the final leg of the World Racing Championships, ensuring that the best of the world's talent is out in force in
Hong Kong to capture the main prize.
Other races in the World Racing Championships take place in
the US,
Singapore,
Germany,
Ireland and
Australia, among other countries.
