Using mobile phones to access travel services will become necessary for many busy travellers in the future, according to one expert.
Increasing numbers of Britons are logging on to the internet using their phones to seek out useful services, Gerry Samuels of Mobile Travel Technologies told TravelMole.
Holidaymakers may soon be regularly using their phones to book flights online, as well as access information on delays and hotel bookings.
"For the consumer, it's quick and easy to use, highly convenient and makes travel easier and less stressful," he said.
The use of technology on the go is becoming increasingly popular with travellers, as the spread of Wi-Fi across the world's airports testifies.
According to Wi-Fi firm iPass, US airports in particular are embracing Wi-Fi, with the most tech-savvy airports including
Chicago,
San Francisco and
Denver, reports Computer Business Review.
