Want to soak up some traditional Norwegian Christmas culture this December?
Fly to Oslo and discover the delights of fine foods and folk dancing at the Christmas Fair.
The event is the largest of its kind in
Oslo and is held on the three Sundays before Christmas at the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History.
It includes a market that harks back to days long gone and sells homemade items such as handicrafts, decorations and culinary treats.
Visitors can also take a stroll through history by peeking into old-fashioned houses in the open-air museum.
These houses are carefully decorated to mimic the styles and traditions of Christmases past from different parts of
Norway.
For visitors looking for other forms of enjoyment, a series of concerts and folk dancing events are also held at the fair, as well as visits to Santa's workshop and a service in a 12th century church.
See the website of the
Norwegian Museum of Cultural History for more information.
