Holidaymakers wanting to indulge themselves this winter should travel to the popular Christmas market in
Stockholm.
Held during three weekends in December at Skansen, the world's oldest open-air museum, the event features a wide range of stalls selling gifts and food to tickle every fancy.
Visitors can browse stalls selling hand-knitted clothing, glass ornaments, fine linens, toys, decorations and embroidery for the perfect Christmas present.
And those looking to make their festive season a food-filled affair can stock up on traditional Swedish delicacies such as sausages, cheeses, rusks, gourmet chocolate, mustard and more.
In addition, travellers can escape from the seasonal
Stockholm cold by visiting an indoor mini-market that sells even more unique goodies, appealing to children and adults alike.
Other events at Skansen over the Christmas period include a festive art exhibition and the Lucia festival, which is celebrated throughout
Sweden on December 13th.
For more information, see the
Skansen website.
