More than two-thirds of travellers (68 per cent) stay at the same hotel on a regular basis when on business trips, according to new research.
The poll, conducted by TripAdvisor.com, found that 48 per cent of travellers believe business travel is something they "don't mind too much" with 34 per cent of respondents taking between one and three business trips this year.
Around a third of respondents also cited "luxury sheets and fancy bath products" as the perks of business travel, while 22 per cent said having a room to themselves was their favourite part of business trips.
"Happy travellers beget happy travellers. The fact that business travellers are loyal to hotels that meet and exceed their expectations speaks to the same power of shared experiences that send visitors back to their favourite brands," commented Michelle Perry, director of communications for TripAdvisor.
However, a small but significant proportion of business people are shunning trips abroad in favour of telephone, video and web conferences.
Certain conferencing providers such as InterCall are setting schemes to capitalise on this trend by awarding customers with air miles for
US flights.
