Start 2007 in style and visit
Miami for the annual King Mango Strut parade on New Year's Eve.
The parade dates back to 1982 and attracts crowds of revellers looking for an unusual way to round off the year.
It caricatures the biggest figures and events of the past 12 months and provides plenty of laughs for visitors to this
Miami parade.
The build-up to the Strut includes a children's pageant, the winners of which get to ride on the first float of the parade.
Participants in the main event can dress up however they like and poke fun at the various highlights – and lowlights - of 2006 as irreverently as they want as they march the streets of
Miami.
After the parade, a post-Strut party finishes the proceedings, usually featuring a different band every year.
For more information on this event, see the
King Mango Strut website.
