Singapore Airlines has announced the development of a brand new economy class cabin for its passengers.
The airline used customer feedback to redesign its economy class seats and surroundings, which are now more spacious, it says.
"While we were developing the economy class cabin, our biggest challenge was to design a seat that offers our customers greater comfort within the confines of the cabin," comments Yap Kim Wah, senior vice president for product and services for
Singapore Airlines.
"With the clever use of cutting-edge technology and top quality materials, and the addition of thoughtful features, the new Singapore Airlines economy class cabin allows us to achieve just that - a more comfortable personal space for each traveller."
The new cabin will first be used by passengers travelling on the airline's B777-300ER planes, which will begin flying later this year, and on the A380.
Yesterday,
Singapore Airlines announced the purchase of 20 new Boeing 787-9 aircraft, designed to hold up to 290 passengers each.
