Film buffs looking for some winter sun this year should head out on a
flight to the Caribbean for the annual Bahamas International Film Festival at Paradise Island between December 7th and 10th.
Nicknamed Cinema In Paradise, the festival explores the world of film from a range of international perspectives, with features from countries across the globe being put up for viewing and discussion.
Each year, the organisers come up with a main theme for its main contest. This year's event will see several filmmakers vying to be the best in genre for the theme The Spirit of Freedom.
Other special categories in this
Caribbean festival include New Visions, World Cinema, Caribbean Spotlight and East Meets West.
More traditional categories such as shorts, features, documentaries and animation will also be in place, with numerous side events starring big names and industry experts also being run, ensuring that a wide variety of tastes is catered for.

Bahamas International Film Festival website.
