Go down under and defy gravity

Thrill-seeking travellers to Australia could be in their element at this year's Gravity Games H2O event at Swan River in Perth.

The games take place between December 6th and 10th and encompass all of the action sports you might expect – skateboarding, jet skiing and biking – along with less well-known sports such as wakeboarding and kiteboarding.

Competitors from around the world try to rack up as many points as possible in each event in the hope of securing first place in either the men's or women's categories.

Visitors to Australia can also watch a number of side-events, such as the final round of the Miss Gravity Games beauty contest and the Gravity Soundwave music concert, featuring a number of bands playing music popular with most action sports aficionados.

Over 100 of the best-known names in action sports are watched by 55,000 spectators every year – making it one of the premier sports events of its kind in the world.
